PROJECT PREVIEW / HMO conversion

Shared living, thoughtfully planned

Private bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, brought together by a welcoming shared kitchen and dining space.

Sample project story for design review.

Shared living, thoughtfully planned

THE BRIEF

A clear purpose.
A considered approach.

Plan a shared home that balances privacy with comfortable communal space. The room examples pair furnished double bedrooms with individual en-suite shower rooms, while a shared kitchen and dining area gives residents a place to come together. Practical storage, coordinated finishes and straightforward maintenance guide the design.

The challenge

Bedrooms, en-suites and shared facilities need to work as one coordinated layout. Privacy, service routes, ventilation, acoustic separation and circulation must be considered alongside the property-specific fire strategy and approvals.

AROUND THE HOUSE

Room one

A bright front bedroom

A double bedroom with a bay window, desk and wardrobe. A muted sage palette gives the space its own character.

Warm stone tones, a glass shower enclosure and compact vanity storage.

Room two

A calm place to unwind

A rear double bedroom with practical storage, a simple furniture layout and a quieter neutral palette.

Pale tiles and chrome fittings keep this private shower room simple and easy to maintain.

Room three

Space for everyday living

A third double bedroom brings together a place to sleep, work and store everyday essentials.

A soft green accent adds character to a compact shower, basin and WC arrangement.

SPACE TO COME TOGETHER

The shared kitchen & dining room

A central place to cook, eat and spend time together. Durable finishes, useful storage and clear circulation complement the privacy of the individual rooms.

THE TRANSFORMATION

The shared space, transformed.

Explore each stage of the sample renovation. Select an image for a closer look.

An older kitchen with tired units and disconnected dining space. The view from the entrance establishes the starting point.
With the finishes removed, the preparation and service routes become visible. This stage focuses on getting the room ready for installation.
Sage cabinetry and warm timber bring the kitchen and dining area together, with clear work surfaces and space around the table.
